Tristan: The best part about this story is that Sarah Kramer (the woman fired) walks away with a 10 month severance package of $300,000+!

So basically no matter how this story could have ended she would always have gotten the money. Unreal. I wish I lived in a world where no matter how bad I screwed up I always got a pay check at the end.

Minister Caplan said the reason for the severance pay was to avoid any legal issues that could arise after having let her go. Basically she would sue for lost wages etc. Where the hell is accountability?! If you get let go/fired it's because you screwed up! Especially in this case.

As some of you know I love politics but this just pisses me off! The political systems in this country suck.

Rival Messages as Obama Lands in the Mideast - NYTimes.com

Source: www.nytimes.com
Tristan: Read this article. It is amazing the amount of effort Obama has put into this trip and the research he has done for his speech. Impressive.

I like what one of his aids said (David Axelrod) about the expectations surrounding the trip and speech in Cairo, specifically regarding the breach between the American and Muslim world. “That breach has been years in the making. It is not going to be reversed with one speech. It’s not going to be reversed, perhaps, in one administration.”

The expectations are realistic in the White House on this issue. I appreciate that.
