Tristan: In the UK some pretty serious laws were just passed heavily restricting photography in public places. The argument being it was in an effort to prevent terrorism.
This advertising campaign by Vancouver Transit Authority is an example of Canada starting down a dangerous path with regards to restrictions in public places. I have serious concerns about many photographers like myself who take allot of street photography. Why can't people get it through their heads that you will not stop a terrorist attack by watching what pictures people are taking? If someone wants to go out and get a picture of something to help with a planned attack they will do it. And you most likely will not notice.
Now completely innocent photographers and other professionals who take images of wall, trains, electrical wires, and so much more are going to be seriously restricted and harassed. My blood is boiling.
